Well, we did it. The first-ever Owiwi live stream is officially in the books. Was it a flawless, heavily produced rock star spectacle? Absolutely not. Was I sweating bullets trying to manage the streaming software, the audio, and my own guitar all at the same time? You bet. But the sound was actually great, a few of you amazing people showed up, and the vibes were overwhelmingly positive. I played four songs, and yes, I completely blanked on a couple of my own lyrics—but honestly, what’s a live show without a little unfiltered human authenticity?
Midway through the set, the urge to panic-mash the “End Stream” button was incredibly real. Balancing the tech while trying to deliver both upbeat rhythm-driven songs and thoughtful storytelling is a lot to juggle. But I didn’t cut it short. The whole point of Owiwi is confronting doubt and building proof. I had to finish it. More importantly, I just had to start it. Progress happens through repeated creative attempts, including performing and building audience connection. Getting over that first terrifying hurdle feels amazing, and I already know session number two is going to be so much easier.
So, what’s next? We’re going to make this a regular thing. I’m aiming for once a week to get those reps in, share some new tunes, and hopefully remember all the words next time. You can catch the replays and hang out at the next session over on YouTube at @owiwimusic, and keep up with the everyday journey on Instagram at @owiwimusic. Thank you to everyone who hung out with me—let’s keep building this together.
